Commongrounds Cooperative is a 47,580 SF mixed-use development created to ensure development happens with the community, not to it. Cunningham-Limp partnered with the Commongrounds team to deliver a highly collaborative project that brings together workforce housing, childcare, and shared spaces for food, arts, wellness, and work. The project required navigating a unique ownership model, complex financing, and regulatory challenges, including support for a legislative change that expanded opportunities for childcare within mixed-use buildings. Open and operating since 2023, Commongrounds provides an inclusive place where people of all ages can connect, learn, and grow, demonstrating what is possible when development is guided by community-driven values.
