The TÜV SÜD North America Transportation Electrification Laboratory is a custom-built facility designed to support the next generation of electric vehicle technology. Completed by Cunningham-Limp at the corner of Dutton and Bald Mountain Road in Auburn Hills, the highly specialized building houses advanced testing chambers engineered for high-intensity lithium-ion battery testing. Purpose-built to meet stringent safety, performance, and regulatory requirements, the laboratory plays a critical role in the advancement of vehicle electrification while contributing to regional job creation and long-term economic growth. The project reinforces Southeast Michigan’s position as a leader in automotive innovation and clean mobility technologies.
“What better partnership could be formed than the one between a world-class developer/builder such as Cunningham-Limp which has built dozens of high-quality buildings in our community, and TÜV SÜD, a world-class company offering testing services to the growing industry of vehicle electrification”, said Former Mayor Kevin McDaniel. “As electric vehicles become the future of the automotive industry, Auburn Hills is laser-focused on being the corporate address for those companies seeking to advance these technologies in support of a greener economy”
